ENSEMBLE PERFORMANCE

Chadwick School Orchestra

For seven years, the Chadwick International School Orchestra has been at the heart of my growth as a musician and person. Starting in Grade 3, I embraced every challenge, from my first role in The Marriage of Figaro, to leading sections. Chadwick’s commitment to excellence is clear in our top KIMEA and AMIS ratings, school concerts, and musical collaborations, each reinforcing the values of teamwork, discipline, and artistic expression.

Initially, I led both Violin I and II, but later chose the viola, drawn by its warm tone and role in connecting the high and low-pitched strings. The viola adds depth, bridging the bright violins with the lower strings, creating a richer sound. Leading this section has taught me the importance of unity and communication, as we work to build a cohesive, balanced tone that supports the entire ensemble.

As a section leader, I guide my peers while maintaining close connection with the conductor, creating a responsive, unified performance. This journey with Chadwick Orchestra has taught me humility, collaboration, and the power of music to bring people together—lessons that have shaped not only my musicianship but also my character.
